Common every day Seitan
1 cup gluten Flour
1Tblsp whole wheat flour
1 Tblsp Nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp onion powder (some garlic powder as well if you like it.)
Miix all of the above together in a bowl
separate bowl:
1 cup COLD water
2 Tblsp soy sauce
add this to the bowl of dry ingredients and quickly it will become a spongy ball
let it sit while you make 6 cups of boiling broth of any of this:
taste as you go remember to make it wicked strong cause you’re flavoring RUBBER
wine,soy sauce,onion,garlic,bay leaves,salt pepper,seaweed,bouillon cubes. celery carrot ANYTHING to make a great broth
When its boiling you can cut the gluten ball into pieces tear it into irregular pieces, roll it into a log, flatten it into a “roast” WHATEVER..drop into boiling broth boil for about ten minutes, turn down to simmer cover partially and GENTLY SIMMER for 45 min take out drain off do what ever you want with it..
also if you want it to be more Chicken like, you can use for the broth nutritional yeast sage pepper,prepared mustard soy sauce celery.
